Finally in HD!!!

on 2/18/2009 08:38:00 AM in
After 20 years of entertaining, 400 or so episodes and 1 movie, they are finally in High-Definition. But wait, not only are they in HD but they've also got a new intro. Same song but different animation. It looks terrific and I guess this intro is gonna last them another 20 years.

Still don't know what I'm talking about? Guess.

Hint: I've seen almost every episode and the local store keeper's surname is Nahasapeemapetilon.

Please, don't mind the title.

Wow it's been a hectic period since I last posted. Seems like Rumor wasn't lying when he said the results would come out on the 29th of last month. Some were delighted to get the results and some weren't. Me? Well I'm not really that delighted but also not that down about it. I'd say I'm just contented with my results. I met the required grades to get me into a University in the UK so now the only obstacle in the pursuit of my dream is the scholarship situation.

Funny thing happened Friday last week. Fadhil and I had our weekly driving session (I know BK but c'mon guys... you know you're not interested). I brought my dad along that night and Fadhil didn't expect it. So when he arrived there, he was all awkward and I could see he was nervous. Nervous to the point that he teed up almost 10 minutes after he arrived. So all night long Fadhil (and on certain occassions me) had an instructor telling us what was wrong with our game. But that wasn't the gruelling part of the night for him.

My dad left early that night so Fadhil and me were left alone there for a moment. When my dad left, Fadhil got back his usual game and were hitting better balls. But it only lasted for about hmmm I don't know, 5 minutes? This was because a stranger (both to me and Fadhil) teed up next to Fadhil and when he saw my friend there swing his club as noobly as possible (sorry Dil) the guy went all 'pro' and threw lots of pointers and tips to Fadhil. To save myself from any humiliation and embarassment, I tried to 'up' my game and surprisingly it worked. I kept on thinking that if I was to hit just one ball badly, the guy at the back would direct his attention to me. Due to that, I was playing one of my best games ever that time while it was the opposite for my friend. All the nerves and jitters got to him and he crumbled under the pressure. To make it up to him I told him to bring his dad the next time we go driving.

Since I talked about Friday already, it wouldn't be fair to the other days so I'll just briefly go by them. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were the University Hunting Days in Rizqun, Empire and Rizqun (again) respectively. Although I had no luck in getting an unconditional from any of my Universities, I still had fun. I don't know maybe it's the company I enjoy or maybe because I just hate doing nothing. Thursday I had a haircut which was a failure because people failed to notice it. Then later on Zimin, Kahar and me attended the career expo briefing. Prior to that we had lunch and went around Bandar. Then we met up with the 'Belia's at Easy Way and went home. Saturday we all went to the Scholarship Convention at ICC which then in the afternoon the guys and I went swimming. It was fun but at the same time very tiring. Lastly there's Sunday. Oh Sunday Sunday, how I love thee. Didn't do much on Sunday. But had a good rest.

Ok enough about the past. Lets talk about the present. Or should I say the latest past. Yeah whatever. Today we had the CareerExpo at school and to tell you the truth it was tiring. We didn't really do our jobs though. Technically we were just sitting around chatting. I think the only time we were really working was when we were stapling the papers together. I got a chance to talk to the Brunei Times people as they had a booth opened up in the expo. So lucky me. I've got my name forwarded to the HR person who called me last month so that I can get feedback on the status of my application. So I'm actually quite delighted because I've got something to expect now.

Oh yeah I nearly forgot, on the 31st of January 2009, the Graduation Magazine was finally out. It was a proud day for me and the magazine committee. We worked really hard on it, had sleepless nights and had our ups and downs in the process. But we got through it and it turned out to be really good. The feedback we've been getting has been mostly positive. However, there are regretfully some mistakes we made. All I can say is sorry and we just have to move on I guess.

Gonna go play Futsal tomorrow *ecstatic*

note: driving - hitting golf balls at the driving range

I've got nothing much to blog about. In fact I never have anything to blog about. Well there are some things that have been going on but yeah I'm gonna be secretive and all censored and shit. Isn't that just frustrating? HAH

With the qualifyings just around the corner, a student like me should be studying and worrying about the exams. I've got half of that done as I'm constantly doing the latter but not the former. Instead, I'm dwindling away updating this sorry excuse for a blog. Well whatever makes me happy right?

The past week has been kinda 'different' because although its still the same old same old but with a touch of new. Nothing much happened on Monday or Tuesday, but Wednesday you might say was the bomb for me. We played futsal and I got plenty of scoring chances. If I'm not mistaken I had about ten or more chances on goal and the majority of those attempts on goal were with my head. This was mainly because my other teammates kept crossing the ball conveniently to my head. However scoring a goal from open play was never meant to be for me. I got a goal under my belt though through a penalty kick. I was pretty relieved after scoring the penalty because I missed a lot of chances before that and I didn't want to disappoint. The game ended in everyone having fun. I don't remember who won but I think it was the other team. Later after the game, I learnt that the reason why I was given so many chances was that Jimmy told the others that I wanted to score a goal with a header. So I'm really grateful because of that.

Team 1: Jimmy, Kahar, Zai, Adeq, Vovie, Faris, Azim (Tom), Azim (Mami), Piring (saucer), Wafri and Bahri.
Team 2: Hanis, Hadi, Zimin, Azmi, Semiun, Ali, Wafi Z, Sim, Dao, Hazwan and I think I forgot the others hahahah.

My week so far

on 7/09/2008 11:32:00 AM in , , , ,
Salutations loyal readers!

I haven't been feeling well lately, which doesn't explain why I haven't been posting anything, so sorry. Anyway back to my well being. It appears that I've contracted the Not-so-rare Common Cold Virus (NCCV). This should not be affiliated or confused with the Rare Common Cold Virus (RCCV) which has plagued my sidekick Adeq aka Robin for almost a month if I'm not mistaken. However both ailments have similar effects such as soreness of the throat and blockage of the nasal passage. Despite so, the NCCV does not cause the loss of voice (like the RCCV) but only alters it a bit making it quite hoarse. Also when I'm affected by this disease, it doesn't really translate externally except for the occasional cough and oh-so-wonderful sneeze. I don't know why but I think probably I normally look f*cked up (mind my french) or maybe because I just don't look sick (coz I' the Juggernaut, bitch!). So from the start of the week until today (hopefully it goes away tomorrow), I've been attending school sick and today was the worst for me.

Oh yeah today I've set an objective which is to 'HULK SMASH' Carrr (Pg. Abdul Kahar) when he least expects it. I already notified him about this and he verbally agreed to not get angry. My first attempt was before telling him so which was when he just arrived to school but I wasn't able to catch up to him as he ran like a little girl! So to Kahar: watch it! HAHAHA

Also kudos to Zimin aka CJeng for passing his driving test. Although I admit I'm a bit envious and jealous of this (since I was expecting to accomplish the same feat about the same time as him), I'm still happy for him. Also I don't see any reason why I should be jealous since even though I haven't passed my driving test, I've gained another driver friend who would be whole-heartedly willing to drive me around. Here are my good driving buddies: Ayub, Fadhil, Wilson, Kahar, Zainul, Imi, Amal, Michelle, Waqi, Ivan and finally Zimin. Thats a lot right. So why should I worry? Also I thought about it: even though I have to wait for a few more weeks to get my license, I still have my whole life to drive. Sure I'd still have to depend on my parents but right now I don't actually mind (that much).

We had Internal Assessment yesterday and today. Honestly I think it wasn't really nerve wracking or hard. I admit that there were a few bumps along the way but overall for me it was OK. The assessors I had weren't really intimidating except for sometimes in which they bombarded me with some outrageous questions and I answered in kind. I tried to keep a cool and calm head throughout. I hope I get a good and fully descriptive review so that I know what my weaknesses are.

Some of the UK people have come back and I've already met a few. Surprisingly no one has changed a lot in their behavior (except for Dini... pervy soulja faggot!) however physically they seem to have changed. I guess they get morphers there.

We've been tallying the nominations and superlatives. So far it has gone quite good and I think we're halfway finished. There are some surprise winners. I should stop talking now due to it's confidential and sensitive nature.

Lastly on Sunday night I attended the Tri-Xtreme Celebration and it was fun. I was actually feeling under the weather that day but I tried to conceal it and eventually had fun with my friends. I got those who joined the competition each got a certificate and an umbrella which is kinda neat because now my future car is complete since I have an umbrella to put inside it. Too bad my team 'Team 28: ANBA" didn't win the $8000 but at least we had a tremendously awesome time.

Oh yeah tomorrow is CCA and we're going to play squash. I bet you guys I'm totally gonna own because I'm very good at squashing things and with my friends being puny little people, I assure you they're not gonna beat me. Also I'm gonna bring my tennis racket which might give me an advantage.

PS: good luck to those taing the MinDef scholarship. Hope you guys get it!
PPS: sorry no pics this time. I'll post some in the future.

The 'Dream Team' 28 (Thank you Ranoadidas for not giving me permission)

30th June 2008 - 3rd July 2008.

School had just started and I didn't even do a single piece of homework. Thank god my History teacher was and is still not around. So During this week I have free period for every B-block. I would say its fun not having class but its boring when theres nobody around. Oh yeah I still haven't done my history homework yet. Maybe I'll do it someday when the day is rid of all its evils and people live on clouds and fly with pixie dust. But most probably I'll do it tomorrow (Friday 4th July 2008).

I haven't been able to stay awake for the past week maybe due to exhaustion and fatigue from the tri-xtreme or maybe because of the tiring nature of the school. Hopefully I can stay awake tonight as tomorrow is a Fr'ee'(i)day.

The UK people came to school today and my how they've changed! Inda pulang. Its good to see them again. I hope to see more of them soon.

To sum it all up nothing spectacular has happened yet but I have a feeling that its coming soon (or not!). I don't actually care... I'll be happy with anything or whatever (THIRST QUENCHERS!!!).

Planting trees and growing beards....

on 6/25/2008 11:56:00 AM in , , , , ,
Its been 18 days since I've shaved my beard and to tell you the truth its starting to become annoying. Its not because of the prospect of being called a terrorist wherever I go but its because I find it hard to restrain myself from shaving it off. I can proudly say that I've got a full beard now and I can't wait for Sunday 29th June 2008, the day that I'll be shaving it off.

Hahaha yeah that was boring... just like today.

I didn't do anything today. I stayed in my room for the whole morning just because I felt like it. There was no work left to do in school because we finished the landscape thing for the MS Youth in school and to tell you the truth, it looks mighty fine. It surprisingly took 3 days to do (which I thought was an impossible feat to accomplish). Work started on Saturday 21/06/08 and ended yesterday 24/06/08. It was gruelling work as the sun and weather weren't on our side.

The first day of work was rather easy as we only had to redo the outline of the landscape which we have repeatedly done a few times. Not many came that day as it was me, zimin, adeq, hanis, azim, fadhil, michelle who came. This time, we decided to make the spacings in between the letters bigger so that it wouldn't be called 'taie' anymore. We did it in about an hour or so with a few setbacks. But no biggy. We still got the work done.

Outline Day

The next day of work (monday) was for me the most tiring day. At first I was left alone at school because the others had bio class. Then eventually zimin came and we decided to go to the formerly Restaurant Hj Metali whose name now is too long for me to remember. There Zimin ate while I drank and we were treated by my uncle who was conveniently there. Funny thing was that after my uncle told us he was going to pay for us, we just left the place in a hurry, due to the feeling of awkwardness, and we forgot to tell the waitresses about my uncle. We went to school straightaway and met up with Michelle and Faris. Many came that day as zudin, kahar, sim, hayaah, das and faris joined the crew. The crew and I did the digging. It was a messy and tiring affair. Each of us handled either a hoe (cangkul) or a shovel. When we thought we finished digging we found out (from Faris punya driver) that we didnt dig deep enough so we had to continue on digging. Everyone was dead tired, all with blistered and splintered hands and sunburns. I even hurt my back while working. Good thing it wasn't serious. When we finished, we all went to Restaurant Hj Metali to eat and Zimin asked the waitress about the our earlier visit there and from that I learned that my uncle was a regular there (hope I meet him there again and next time I'm gonna bring everyone haha). Then Fadhil sent me home (like always).

You can see the M-S-P-S-B-S!

The Crew

Yours truly doing some hoe-ing!

Si Bro!

The next day wasn't as tedious as the day before. This time more people came: Amal, Imi and Ainul joined the crew. This was maybe because the heavy jobs were already done the day before or because I didn't do much that day. I came late as I had my driving lesson from 9 - 10 am. Driving was ok. I was taught how to parallel park and my best time for the whole parking thing was about 3-4 minutes. I was quite proud. Hell who wouldn't be right? Back to the planting. After driving I had to wait about 20 minutes for my ride to come. I only expected my butler (Fadhil/Alfred) to come pick me up but when the Initial Dil Boobile came, I saw my trusted sidekick, Dick 'Adeq' Grayson aka Robin. When I saw this I immediately put on my non-gay, very cool looking batsuit and as Adeq said, the Dynamic-trio was complete. (HAHAHA!!! GILA CALI SI ADEQ AH!!!). When I got in the car, Kran said we had to go to the Horticulture Centre to get more soil for the landscape. Having no choice, I followed. Upon reaching and seeing the place, it reminded me of one of DLF's posts on the Party of Freaks, the Jurassic Park edition. This was because when we reached the place, I saw a Brachiosaur and in the car with me were the Dark Lord Adeq and Dhell Boy/In-Krandhell Hulk.

La Estadia!

Horticulture Centre, Rimba

When we reached the stall where the soil transaction was to be made, me and adeq decided to explore the place. We found a phone booth which we hoped would bring us to CONTROL Headquarters. But it didn't. Then we went over to the pond in hopes of seeing some fish but none could be seen... not even a BANKAI!!! LOL. After that we went over to the Brachiosaur and took a few pictures of it.

Robin, boy wonder!

The Dark Lord Adeq and his minion!

Jugger B.

After that, Kran droveby to pick us up as he had already purchased the soil. Then we went to Hua Ho Manggis Mall to get some drinks for the guys working.

awww.....

After that it was back to work. When we arrived, I was astonished at the progress. The landscape was almost done and it looked great. I found out that the 200 plants purchased was enough. But unfortunately the soil we bought was less than sufficient. So after almost an hour of applying the top soil, we had to get some more soil. So we ventured off again to the Horticulture Centre but I didn't do anymore exploring because I was dead tired. When we got back, we finished everything and then decided to go back to my place for some deserved rest and relaxation.

No reward for awesomeness!

on 6/17/2008 04:19:00 PM in , , , ,
Well my day wasn't actually a day, it was more of an afternoon/evening cos i only did stuff during that time.

The plan for the afternoon and evening was to go to Charcoal as Michelle had invited me the day before. The plan was simple for me as transport was Krandhell and permission was given just as long as I returned back home after.

Kran picked me up at 4 o'clock right after she picked up c Meips (who is very very cool!) and we went to the airport to fetch some money. But with the place being packed, there was no room for me or fadhil to move so we decided to go to the Soon Lee Department Store at Lambak. I nearly had a heart attack when I was withdrawing money because I nearly withdrew $200 instead of $20. Crazy ah. Kran had a problem when he used the ATM so we decided to go to another ATM just to waste time.

We went to the ATM just above the hill near Soon Lee and as Fadhil left the car to fetch some money, I was left alone in the car with Meips. I wanted to ask her about the FHM mag me and zimin pestered her to buy for almost a week, but I assumed she didnt get it since she didnt mention anything about it. So we chatted for awhile about how fun her trip to Singapore. As Kran came back into the car, he told us the ATM wasn't working for im there either so we went to Kiulap to get his money and there we did.

After that it was straight on to Batu Satu where Charcoal was. Since we were there pretty early, at around 5, we decided to check out the new arcade in the area. In my honest opinion it was very dull and had quite a hostile feeling about it. But we tried out some games and yes, it was a load of crap!

After that we went to Best Eastern where we spent almost 20 mins there until the arrival of a certain someone namely c Zimin. Ia jalan dari Yayasan all the way to the place. Gila. Then we went straight to Charcoal and waited for the others to come. It was well about half an hour before Michelle and Dao came. Then soon after Hanis came and after that Sue too. It was tons of fun. Too bad not many came. Guess others were not informed about it and I sincerely apologise for being BEEKAY!

Here are some pics:

Me and Soulja Boy! I was halfway through my meal while Soulja Boy had already finished his.
Funny thing is we ordered the same thing.

DLF said that he could finish this and guess what? HE DID!!!!
But before he finished he said, "I can't swallow anymore meat!".
Guess he's just modest... and a bit perverted and bicurious.

The predator pounced with sheer malice on it's well done prey!

Everyone full and satisfied except for Soulja Boy who was still hungry.
Tu si DLF kan muntah ah.

Highlight of the night! You rock Meips! woowoowoowoowoo FHM!!!

Yup Megan Fox! and the yellow label says:
"Unsuitable for the young"
Why? We were just reading the articles about eco-friendly cars!

MEIPS SURPRISED ME AND ZIMIN WITH THE FHM MAG. I WAS SPEECHLESS WHEN SHE DID THAT!

AGAIN MEIPS YOU ROCK!!!!
SERIOUSLY THANK YOU!

oh yeah after that we sent zimin and sue home. at around 10 o'clock I arrived home and I stealthily sneaked in. Funny thing was that nearly an hour after I came back, I got a call from my dad asking me where I was. Haha.

PS: oh yeah to the suckers who want to borrow the mag... DREAM ON!!!! aku sama zimin ganya dapat HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

That sums up how i felt during my driving session today. The early part of driving was full of crap. My engine stalled a few times and I hate to say but it was *four-letter-word* up!. Not gonna make excuses but its just that Im a friggin noob. I released the clutch too drastically at times and i didnt press the gas pedal down enough.

But that was only in the beginning. After I got onto the road going to bandar, it was smooth sailing.
Gila I was so stressed out after that I didnt even say a word to my driving instructor during the 'journey'. For that Im sorry pasal boring jua tu. haha. At times I nearly dozed off haha. But the road going to bandar was crowded like hell, ijap ku.

From bandar I took the route which i took last week. It was ok. Funny thing is that when I was driving to Mentiri, Ayub overtook my car twice. Gila laju wah ia ah. I messaged him after I finished driving and he said it wasnt him drivin fast but it was me who drove slowly.

On the way back home, Ayub once again overtook the car I was driving. Damn thats 3 times. Nyaman ia lapas atu stuck in traffic. I drove home again with my teacher and this time it was better masa naik bukit.

Oh yeah before I went off driving, I met with Zai, Zimin, Wen Yi and Nabilah Ibrahim. They were too there to attend their driving lessons. Gila atu ramai org ms. Ada lagi sorg atu tapi i dont want to mention his name.

It wasnt as exciting as last time because probably I expected it to be better. In fact I'm rather disappointed at myself. This becoming too depressing so better change topic.

Ummm I know its a bit too late to talk about Dao's ambuyat party so I won't. So here are a few pics:

Shit eh bilik ku baju red (cuba cakap laju2)!

An ode to a Dear Little Friend

on 6/07/2008 03:14:00 PM in , , ,
(SPOILER: LAME/BORING POST!)

Ok today was cool. During history we decided to have a revolution against science subjects but this should be a secret so if you wanna know just ask me. We're planning to break the trend and set a new one. One which will be seen as our legacy. Our road to glory. The rise of humanity subjects. And the public realization of the overrated nature of science subjects.

HAHAHA.......

Gila hyper ku eh.... I've been like this since morning. This is maybe because of the fact that I was too tired to actually feel what i was supposed to or maybe because this was just a fun day. Why not ask zimin or carrr, surely they'll agree that it was a fun day. In the morning during free period, I worked on the msyouth video and I had my first screening. It wasn't big though. Only a few watched it but mostly came with satisfactory comments. Some mentioned there were a few parts that needed to be worked on and for that I thank you for making me not look like a fool. It was rather satisfying to receive such positive response. Now I know it was all not for waste. Even the teacher-in-charge of the Msyouth complimented it. But I don't want to be too excited cause I'm not sure whether it would appeal to others as someone said that the video was quite boring and would make people fall asleep. I'm not gonna name names *cough*amal*cough*. ahem....

Well apart from that, in the afternoon we were busy preparing for the Environmental Week. Some of us were transplanting the plants up for adoption into pots. We had lots of fun as not only did we do it with loads of company but also we did it without a care in the world of getting our hands dirty. We also helped out in preparing articles for the exhibition and also some went to fix the sculptures from the sculpture competition.

In the afternoon, a graduation meeting for heads and asst heads of committees was held. It was quite productive as we learned about the progress of other committees. However, we could all be more productive. During the meeting, my idea of having the graduation near the school i.e. the banquet hall at hua ho manggis was finally acknowledged by Wan. I was happy when I heard this because people rarely listen to me and take me seriously (This confuses me cause I can always be seen so how come I am rarely heard?). But the drawback of this is that the desire of many might not be fulfilled as most preferred to have the graduation night somewhere else i.e. Empire Hotel. Dont get me wrong, even though i proposed to have the graduation night at Hua Ho, I wanted to go to Empire also. But it seems that its out of our price range. Apart from hua ho, polo club jerudong is also an alternative. I dont know about the place though but i hope its good. Also during the meeting I was talking to Carrr about the awards I'd be able to win: biggest, best white-hair, best jugger bitch!, best bahri and fattest. The 2nd and last one I've got competition though especially the last one as I have to compete with Fadhil, Waqi and Adeq. Damn!

Ok now off to a more important issue.... ADA ORANG BIRTHDAY INDA LAMA LAGI (08/06/2008)!!!! wait let me rephrase that:

ADA LEPRECHAUN BIRTHDAY INDA LAMA LAGI (08/06/2008)!!! MMMMM... AMBUYAT!!!!!

haha atu plg ganya.

PS: history rocks!

Be A Tree...

on 6/05/2008 11:48:00 AM in ,
Well for about a week now me and the msyouth group have been working on the msyouth video which would be shown next week. I learned two things from making the video: first, its very stressful and second, my computer sucks.

Despite so, i find it rather fun. I dont know why though.... seriously haha.

Ok today was rather fun. In the morning I didnt have to do much since it is a thursday and we had cca today. Maths was ok, history was better than usual and physics was just bearable. Something happened during history time though. The Deputy Principal 1 (i dont want to mention names) came to our history class and told me that she had just picked me to go to the Sunburst Youth Camp held in Singapore at the end of the year. I was rather surprised in hearing this though because I seriously think there are others more deserving to go. Also I dont think I have a chance since the government only allows representation for the country once in every four years. The last time i represented the country was in 2005 when i was part of the delegation going to Jogjakarta, Indonesia for the International Junior Science Olympiad. I guess another person would be given the opportunity as i was already given one not long ago.

However I stil have to go to the interview next week on the 11th of June. I heard that in the interview itself I'd be asked to dance/sing or do both. I dont know if i have the guts or integrity to do so. Maybe I'd just end up spill my guts.... haha.

Now enough about that. After break-time we had MS Youth. I was asked to take the group photos of the Form 5 and Form 3 groups since they didnt bring any camera and that I clearly had one.

After all that was done with, we started our session. The pra-U2s were divided into 4 groups and jobs were delegated among us. The first group (adeq, wan, hayaah, adib, sim and zudin and khaliq sometimes) took the responsibility of judging the posters submitted by form 1 and 2 students for the poster competition in collaboration with the environmental week which would be held next week. The second group was the adopta plant group. Michelle, Azim, Hanis, Mei Ping and a few others whom i regrettably forgot took this task. They were supposed to come up with names and personalties of the plants that would be up for adoption next wee. The third group (zimin, afiq and i forgot again haha) were to help Cikgu Yani to arrange things in the audi for next week and also bring out and repair the sculptures (especially the pahlawan one).

The final group was the video editing group. The group comprised of Mal, Zudin, Ainul, me, zimin at first and i think that was it. Khaliq and Sim were also there but they didnt stay static as he involved himself in other groups also. Mal, Zudin and Ainul went around school to interview some teachers while i was left to edit the videos. It was great. I worked on 3 computers (mine, Mal's and zimin's). On Mal's computer was used for music selection, my computer was used for browsing the web and transferring data while Zimin's was used to edit the videos (pictures of me working will be posted depending on whether i get a hold of them or not). It was rather cool doing these things and I could say others seemed envious by just looking at me (HAHAHA). Sim provided me with some awesome music. After that we had lunch and i continued on editing in the library with Khaliq, Sim and Adeq.

Yup 3 laptops... c meips ucap aku setaie ah
(thanks for the pic meips!)

Well the highlight of the day would be the environmental talk we had in the afternoon. A presenter from the Canadian High Commission came to talk to us about the environment. We talked about how and what we can do to save the world from the crisis it is facing now. He also gave us a brief account of Canada. After a few minutes of talking, he showed us a DVD. The Dvd was a collection of animated stories by Frederic Back. He showed us the story, The Man Who Planted Trees. It tells the story of one shepherd's long and successful singlehanded effort to re-forest a desolate valley in the foothills of the Alps near Provenance in the first half of the 20th century.

The story to me was rather touching and I wasnt alone on this one as I saw Michelle weep at the end of the video. The shepherd, Elzeard Bouffier, lived in solitude and his everyday routine was to plant trees. It was magnificent. It was to me a perfect picture of an ideal life as although he was alone, he had done what he had loved. I thought that this was a true story however when I wikied the movie, Elzeard Bouffier was just a fictional character and the story was made to make trees likeable or planting trees likeable. However even with its fictional origin, i cant deny that it was inspirational.

Next was discussion time and it was rather productive. As an end note, the speaker gave us his life principle which was the Tree Principle. He said that we are made of three things, our roots, trunk and branches and leaves. The roots symbolizes he people you are with who support you. The trunk is the part of yourself which you can never change which is your personality and attitude. Lastly the branches and leaves symbolizes our skills and specialties.

There was this one thing he said which hit me the hardest. When he talked about the branches and leaves of our life, he mentioned that none of those will ever grow without knowledge. He said that "knowledge is like sunlight and its up to you whether you want to absorb it or not". Nothing else can be said about it. Thats more than enough motivation for me to strive for the best. But im still pessimistic as i constantly fear that i may disappoint myself one day.

End of rambling... back to work!

PS: to the economists (zimin, munji.... uhhh forgot haha) sitting for their econs paper tomorrow good luck!
